An optional feature of the SEPA Core Direct Debit Scheme is being developed by the EPC.  It will be documented as follows:

• A Service Description which presents the business rules and requirements of e-Mandates, for later inclusion in the SEPA Core Direct Debit Rulebook
• The development of standards for UNIFI (ISO 20022) XML Standards compliant messages for the exchange of data between the actors involved
• The development of standards for the e-Operating Model for secure communication and connections between the technical routing and validation services needed for the operation of e-Mandates over the Internet

The Service Description has been revised following consultation with banking communities and is now being issued for stakeholder consultation with a deadline of 31 July 2008.
