EPC Recommendation on ISO 20022 Customer Reporting of SCTs and SDDs

The EPC issues implementation guidelines (IGs) that are based on the ISO 20022 standard for the customer-to-PSP (C2PSP) space as well as the inter-PSP space. In addition, the EPC also provides recommendations on ISO 20022 PSP-to-customer (PSP2C) account information, which represent the third and final link in the chain.

The aim of this document is to present a mapping of the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) rulebook requirements vis-à-vis the ‘Transaction Details’ message elements of the ISO 20022 reporting messages.

The version from 2019 has been amended to be in line with various changes (e.g., attribute renumbering and migration to the 2019 message version of the ISO 20022 standard) made in the 2023 SEPA payment scheme rulebooks and related implementation guidelines.

Note: On 24 October 2023, the EPC decided that the migration of the SEPA payment schemes to the 2019 message version of ISO 20022 would be postponed to 17 March 2024. The initial entry-into-force date of the 2023 SEPA payment rulebooks and related IGs has hence also been postponed from 19 November 2023 to 17 March 2024. As a result, an updated version 4.1 of document EPC188-09 was published on 14 November 2023. In terms of content, version 4.1 is exactly the same as version 4.0, besides some editorial updates in relation to the new entry-into-force date and updated version numbers of the 2023 SEPA payment rulebooks and related IGs.
