SEPA Direct Debit Core Rulebook Version 7.2 03.04.15

On 3 April 2015, the European Payments Council (EPC) published an updated version 7.2 of the SEPA Direct Debit (SDD) Core Rulebook, becoming effective on that same day. The SDD Core Rulebook version 7.2 remains unchanged from a functional or technical point of view, i.e. changes introduced into the updated version are of a purely administrative nature and have no operational impact whatsoever.

As the main change, this rulebook version includes an updated version of the SEPA Scheme Management Internal Rules (SMIRs), which contain descriptions of the internal organisation, structure, rules, and processes that make up the scheme management of the SEPA Credit Transfer and SDD Schemes. Annex III of the SDD Core Rulebook version 7.2 lists all editorial changes compared to the previous version 7.1.

Here you find the SDD Core Rulebook version 7.2 which takes effect on 3 April 2015. The SDD Core Rulebook version 7.2 remains in effect until 21 November 2015.

Recap of the version history of the SDD Core Rulebook which is in effect until 21 November 2015:

  • In November 2012, the EPC published an updated and enhanced version 7.0 of the SDD Core Rulebook. In accordance with industry best practice, payment service providers and their suppliers had sufficient time to address rulebook updates prior to them taking effect.
  • On 27 January 2014, the EPC published version 7.1 of the SDD Core Rulebook, which entered into force on 1 February 2014. The SDD Core Rulebook version 7.1 had been updated to incorporate a few editorial amendments only compared to the version 7.0 published in November 2012. As a main change, the updated rulebook version no longer referenced the concept of a ‘Pan-European Automated Clearing House (PE-ACH)’ nor the EPC document, entitled ‘PE-ACH/Clearing and Settlement Mechanism (CSM) Framework’.
  • As mentioned above, on 3 April 2015, the EPC published version 7.2 of the SDD Core Rulebook to include revised SMIRs.
