The key findings of the European trend survey "Banks & Future 2010" published in October 2010 demonstrate that the financial industry currently focuses on optimising internal efficiencies across cost structures and business processes. Furthermore, SEPA implementation is high on the agenda: eighty per cent of respondents representing the European banking industry considers that the European Commission should take regulatory action to set a definite end date (or dates) for the migration to the SEPA payment instruments. The study also highlights business segments which are highly relevant for the development of innovations in payment products and services.
