These Implementation Guidelines () set out the rules for implementing the interbank ISO 20022 XML message standards based on version 1.1 of the 2017 SEPA Credit Transfer (SCT) rulebook , which took effect on 19 November 2017.
The updated (2017 v2.0) published on 20 December 2017 introduce the ‘candidate’ ISO 20022 messages related to the inquiry processes (i.e. Claim Non-Receipt, Claim for Value Date Correction and Response to the inquiries).
A new updated version ( 2017 v2.1), which will replace v2.0, is expected to be published before the summer 2018 and will include the approved inquiry related ISO 20022 messages.
It should be noted that the inquiry processes will only become effective in November 2019, as stated in version 1.1 of the 2017 scheme rulebook.
Errata documents were published on 4 May 2018 which list some minor changes to the 2017 version 1.1 and 2017 version 2.0 (see below) of the Interbank .
XML Schema Definitions (XSDs) related to the aforementioned are also made available. (Note: XSD files can be opened via a text editor (e.g. Microsoft Notepad) or XML Schema editor.)
Disclaimer: XSDs are not developed for ‘production’ purposes, they are to instantiate the business rules and restrictions contained in the implementation guidelines in a formal interchange format, sometimes referred to as Technical Validation Subsets (TVSs). Production instantiations should refer to the default ISO 20022 namespaces.
For more information on the data formats based on the global ISO 20022 message standards, refer to the Publication 'Shortcut to the SEPA Data Format' .
