These Implementation Guidelines () set out the Single Euro Payments Area ()rules for implementing the interbank ISO 20022 XML message standards based on version 1.1 of the 2017 Credit Transfer () rulebook, which takes effect on 19 November 2017.
The updated (2017 v1.1) published on 14 November 2017 introduce the ‘Request for Recall by the Originator’ (RRO) procedure (including the ‘Request for Status Update’ related to the RRO) and will become effective as from 18 November 2018.
A new updated version ( 2017 V2.0) was published on 20 December 2017 which introduces the ‘candidate’ ISO 20022 messages related to the inquiry processes. Another updated version ( 2017 v2.1) is expected to be published before the summer and will include the approved inquiry related ISO 20022 messages. It should be noted that the inquiry processes will only become effective in November 2019, as stated in version 1.1 of the 2017 Credit Transfer scheme rulebook.
Errata documents were published on 4 May 2018 which list some minor changes to the 2017 version 1.1 (see below) and 2017 version 2.0 of the Interbank .
XML Schema Definitions (XSDs) related to the aforementioned are also made available. (Note: XSD files can be opened via a text editor (e.g. Microsoft Notepad) or XML Schema editor.)
XSDs are not developed for ‘production’ purposes, they are to instantiate the business rules and restrictions contained in the implementation guidelines in a formal interchange format, sometimes referred to as Technical Validation Subsets (TVSs). Production instantiations should refer to the default ISO 20022 namespaces.
For more information on the data formats based on the global ISO 20022 message standards, refer to the Publication 'Shortcut to the Data Format'.
