These Implementation Guidelines ( ) set out the Single Euro Payments Area ( ) rules for implementing the interbank ISO 20022 XML message standards based on versions 1.1 and 1.2 of the 2017 Instant Credit Transfer ( Inst) rulebook.
The updated (2017 v1.1) published on 19 July 2017 contain the official version of the ISO 20022 message “FI to FI Payment Status Request” (pacs.028.001.01), in replacement of the ‘candidate’ version. This update was already foreseen when v1.0 was published in November 2016.
In November 2017, another updated version (2017 v1.2) was published which introduces the ‘Request for Recall by the Originator’ (RRO) procedure (including the ‘Request for Status Update’ related to the RRO) and which will become effective as from 18 November 2018 at 08:00 CET. An errata document was published on 4 May 2018 which lists some changes to the 2017 version 1.2 of the Inst Interbank .
XML Schema Definitions (XSDs) related to the aforementioned are also made available. (Note: XSD files can be opened via a text editor (e.g. Microsoft Notepad) or XML Schema editor.)
Disclaimer: XSDs are not developed for ‘production’ purposes, they are to instantiate the business rules and restrictions contained in the implementation guidelines in a formal interchange format, sometimes referred to as Technical Validation Subsets (TVSs). Production instantiations should refer to the default ISO 20022 namespaces.
For more information on the data formats based on the global ISO 20022 message standards, refer to the EPC Publication 'Shortcut to the SEPA Data Format'.
