The ad-hoc multi-stakeholder group on Mobile Initiated (instant) Credit Transfers (MSG MSCT), which is facilitated by the European Payments Council ( ), held its 23rd and 24th Plenary meetings on 29 June and 31 August 2021 respectively.
The Plenary received updates on the work progress made in the various work-streams for the preparation of the draft 2nd release of the Mobile Initiated (Instant) Credit Transfer Interoperability Guidance (MSCT IG – 269-19). The final document was subsequently approved for a 3-month public consultation which was launched on the website on 8 July 2021 with a dedicated questionnaire.
The MSG MSCT Plenary also discussed the feedback received on their status report to the in June 2021. More in particular, the group discussed the request made to the for the development of a document on standardisation and governance of QR-codes for IPs at the POI (based on /2020/026), that was laid down with the MSG MSCT.
The Plenary decided to extend their work-stream on technical interoperability for this purpose with relevant stakeholders and standardisation bodies as per the suggestion made by the . A first kick-off meeting of this WS was scheduled on 1 September 2021. The MSG MSCT also agreed on an updated 2021 work plan to cover this additional task.
Finally, the MSG MSCT was also informed about the status of the work on the development of “Requirements for consumer selection of preferred payment instrument” made in the joint task force with the European Cards Stakeholders Group.
