The seventeenth and final meeting of the Steering Committee of the Mobile Proxy Forum ( ), which focuses on pan-European interoperability of person-to-person ( ) mobile payments, was held as a conference call on 7 June 2018.
During the 7 June 2018 conference call, it was announced that the Board had approved the request of the Steering Committee for the to assume the role of Standardised Proxy Lookup ( ) scheme manager. As a result, the will start with the preparation of its new governance body which includes the effort to recruit scheme participants.
The preferred service provider (equensWorldline) informed that it can still commit to the timeline defined in the request for proposal meaning that the product will be made available at the beginning of October 2018, friendly user testing will take place in November 2018 and the full roll out of the service can be expected by the beginning of 2019.
The Steering Committee was disbanded following the signing of a transfer of copyright agreement - in relation to the rules and specification – by the Chair, Vice-Chair and the .
