To contribute to the take-up of mobile initiated (instant) credit transfers (MSCT) in Europe, the EPC created in 2018 an ad-hoc multi-stakeholder group (MSG MSCT). The group has been focusing during the past years on the interoperability of MSCTs across the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) and published a number of documents to facilitate this. More information on the activities of the MSG MSCT may be found in “Related links”.

In view of the extension of their mandate (see MSG MSCT 128-21), the MSG MSCT is currently establishing a new Work-Stream (WS) on the interoperability of MSCTs based on Near Field Communication (NFC) or Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). The Terms of Reference for this new Work-Stream may be found below.
The EPC is looking for professionals having expertise in the usage of these technologies for payments, e.g. payment terminal manufacturers, mobile device manufacturers, MSCT service providers as well as representatives of appropriate standardisation bodies or relevant market stakeholders.

The members of the work-stream will at all times execute their mandate in accordance with the stipulations of the EPC Code of Conduct on competition law (EPC212-14), as amended from time to time.

Proposed nominations, including a motivation letter with a description of proven expertise on the topic, are solicited by 20 January 2022 and are to be sent to [email protected]
The first meeting of this new MSG MSCT Work-Stream will be hosted as a virtual meeting on 28 January 2021.
