After publishing a Green Paper on retail financial services, which was subject to a public consultation that ended in March last year, the European Commission recently released an Action Plan on Consumer Financial Services. The Action Plan aims to further harmonise financial services in the European Union, to the benefit of consumers and providers.
In this blog, Martin Merlin, Director at the Commission’s Directorate General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union, highlights two of the actions that directly concern payments.
