The islands of Jersey, Guernsey, and the Isle of Man (known as ’British Crown Dependencies’) will become as from 1 May 2016 part of the geographical scope of the schemes. Payment Service Providers of these territories benefit from a three-month period after this announcement in order to be operationally ready to implement the SEPA schemes. This period also provides existing scheme participants and other technical players sufficient time to adapt their systems.
