Default SRTP related API Specifications

30 June 22

The European Payments Council (EPC) publishes today the default Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) Request-to Pay (SRTP) related application programming interface (API) specifications based on version 2.1 of the SRTP scheme rulebook, which becomes effective on 30 June 2022.

It is important to mention that these specifications cover SRTP related messages in the inter-SRTP Service Provider space only (in both directions) and that SRTP scheme participants are free to use market developed APIs.

The use of APIs for the exchanges between SRTP Service Providers will be mandatory as of 30 November 2023. However, the SRTP scheme participants that wish so, are free to already use their APIs now (based on market APIs or on the default EPC APIs).
