The European Payments Council ( ) is inviting applications for vacancies on its Appeals Committee, effective 1st quarter 2015. The vacancies are for the two seats available to 'independent members', meaning that they should not be employed or be otherwise affiliated with an scheme participant or payment service provider communities, service providers or a payment services user group or user association.
Single Euro Payments Area ( ) Scheme Management within the consists of two functions. One covers the administration of the Credit Transfer ( ) and Direct Debit ( ) Schemes and the process of ensuring compliance (handling of complaints, conciliation cases, appeals) with the rules as laid down in the and Rulebooks, and this is the responsibility of the SMB, the Compliance and Adherence Committee and the Appeals Committee. The second involves managing the development and evolution of the schemes and this is handled within the by the SMB and the Scheme Evolution and Maintenance Working Group.
The structure of the Appeals Committee together with details on the internal organisation, rules and processes are detailed in in Section 3.2.2 of the draft new Scheme Management Internal Rules (subject to public consultation) which are available for download at the foot of this page.
