The European Payments Council () released the updated version 2.0 of the document ‘Guidelines for the Appearance of Mandates for the Direct Debit (SDD) Core and SDD Business-to-Business (B2B) Schemes (see ‘related files’ below) on 15 September 2015.

The overall aim of the document is to provide guidance on the visual presentation of mandates under the Scheme and the Scheme issued by creditors as part of their offer to debtors to use the SDD Schemes as a way for making payments. It illustrates a number of ways to design a SDD mandate without losing any essential content whilst still remaining Rulebook compliant.

The considered it useful to update this document for new SDD scheme participants, new country jurisdictions joining and first-time creditors.

The updated version 2.0 of the document includes now a section on the mandate and important information about the provision of the Business Identifier Code (BIC) on the SDD mandate.
