All stakeholders involved in mobile payments (payment service providers, mobile network operators, application developers, merchant and consumer organisations, etc.) are invited to participate in the public consultation on the ’s white paper on mobile payments.

This document informs stakeholders about the ’s commitment to an integrated market for mobile payments in , and the potential of the mobile channel to build on payment instruments. It draws the portrait of the many use cases of mobile payments in Europe, such as mobile contactless card payments and consumer-to-consumer remote credit transfers.

The aim of the white paper is to contribute to European mobile payments’ harmonisation, in order to enhance the consumer’s and merchant’s experiences, through convenient, user-friendly, safe and cost-effective solutions.

The white paper version currently under consultation includes information about the new types of mobile proximity payments, the new technologies and the new stakeholders that have entered the mobile payment landscape since the last release of the white paper in 2012.

The consultation will end on 1 September 2016. The white paper and the questionnaire to complete in order to participate in the public consultation are available on the EPC website.
