The multi-stakeholder group on Mobile Initiated (instant) SEPA Credit Transfers (MSG MSCT), which is facilitated by the European Payments Council (EPC), held a Plenary meeting on 18 April 2023.

During this meeting they agreed on a request for a mandate extension of the group (MSG MSCT 024-23) that would be further processed for approval to the EPC Board in May 2023.

The Plenary was informed about the status of the submission for a fast track procedure to ISO Technical Committee (TC) 68 Subcommittee (SC) 9 – Financial Services - Information exchange for financial services of the document Specification of QR-codes for mobile (instant) credit transfers (MCTs) (EPC193-22v1.2).

The Plenary was further updated on the comments received through the public consultation on the document Interoperability of MSCTs based on Near Field Communication (NFC) or Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) (EPC287-22v0.18) which would be processed by the dedicated work-stream during the next weeks.

Finally, the group was updated on the progress made during the past months on the maintenance of the document on Mobile Initiated SEPA (Instant) Credit Transfer Payments and Interoperability Guidance (MSCT IG, EPC269-19v2.0), in preparation of the third release of the document.

The MSG also continues their monitoring of a number of other standardisation bodies and industry initiatives related to MSCTs.
