Today the European Payments Council (EPC) is publishing the “Interoperability of mobile initiated SEPA (instant) credit transfers (MSCTs) based on Near Field Communication (NFC) or Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)” document that has been prepared by the multi-stakeholder group on Mobile Initiated (instant) SEPA Credit Transfers (MSG MSCT).

Earlier this year, a ten-week public consultation has been launched to gather industry opinion and market feedback regarding this document. This final version takes into account the comments received through this public consultation.

The document focuses on the usage of NFC or BLE for the exchange of the necessary information between the payer and the payee to enable the initiation of an MSCT. For more information, see “related document”.
