As a PSP, I originally opted for a Standard EDS onboarding, but I want to change to a Simplified EDS onboarding. What should I do?

There are two main options for onboarding into the EDS:

  • Standard EDS onboarding: This is recommended for PSPs not using an RVM, or with multiple RVMs, wishing to maintain full control over EDS management. The PSP indicates its own email address in the VOP scheme adherence documents, and the users register with their institution's BIC8 on swift.com.
  • Simplified EDS onboarding: This option is recommended for PSPs that plan to use only one RVM and prefer to simplify their EDS onboarding by handing over EDS control to that RVM. The PSP indicates the RVMs email address in the VOP scheme adherence documents, and that RVM user registers with the EPC BIC on swift.com.

A PSP that originally opted for a Standard EDS onboarding can change to a Simplified EDS onboarding by informing the EPC (via email to the VOP mailbox ([email protected]) or by sending an updated Schedule to the Adherence Agreement (Annex H2)) about the RVM email address to be used for the EDS (“E-mail address to be used for registration in the EPC Directory Service (EDS) »).
The selected RVM will then receive an email with its access to perform the EDS registration and/or update on behalf of the PSP.

In case the PSP has already performed its registration in the EDS but wants to delegate the EDS updates to an RVM, it can also log into the EDS GUI, navigate to the "Proxy Delegation" tab, and explicitly delegate its EDS management rights to a chosen RVM. From that point on, the selected RVM will be able to act on behalf of the PSP.

Note that in both scenarios, the selected RVM must be listed on the EPC website as a VOP scheme RVM with a completed qualifications status by the time the PSP signs a contract with this RVM.
