Today the European Payments Council (EPC) published version 4.0 of the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) Request-to-Pay (SRTP) Implementation Guidelines (IGs).
These IGs set out the rules for implementing the relevant ISO 20022 XML message standards based on version 4.0 of the SRTP scheme rulebook, which takes effect on 5 October 2025 at 03:30 CEST.
The three IG documents have been updated to version 4.0, covering SRTP related messages in the:
- Payee to Payee’s RTP Service Provider space (in both directions) (EPC258-22).
- Inter-RTP Service Provider space (in both directions) (EPC259-22).
- Payer to Payer’s RTP Service Provider space (in both directions) (EPC260-22).
Section 4 of the SRTP IG documents outlines the changes from the previous version (V3.0).
In addition, SEPA XML Schema Definitions (XSDs) related to SRTP IGs are made available. These XSD files can be accessed using a text editor (e.g. Microsoft Notepad) or an XML Schema editor.
The related SRTP Inter-PSP API specifications are expected to be published in due course.
