The EPC Directory Service (EDS) is accessible by scheme participants and their technical providers (e.g. Routing and/or Verification Mechanisms (RVM) for the Verification Of Payee (VOP) scheme or Referenced Technical Service Providers (RTSP) for the SEPA Request-to-Pay (SRTP) scheme through a Web Graphical User Interface (GUI), and through EDS Application Programming Interfaces (API).
Once the adherence to the scheme is completed and the onboarding in the EDS - including also user creation and activation in SWIFT user management platform “swift.com” - the scheme participants and the RVMs can access the EDS via APIs. More details about the EDS onboarding and user creation, including also the procedure for accessing the APIs will be provided in the EDS Onboarding and Registration Guide.
The EDS functions available to the scheme participants and their RVMs through the EDS APIs are:
- Via “Automated Download Service” API:
- Download of the full EDS content in the EDS Local File format.
- Via Consumer and Provisioning API:
- Search for scheme participants’ records in the EDS.
- Make updates on the scheme participants’ data in the EDS.
