The European Payments Council (EPC) has released today the updated clarification papers aimed at enhancing the understanding and consistent implementation of the SEPA Credit Transfer (SCT), SEPA Instant Credit Transfer (SCT Inst), SEPA Direct Debit Core (SDD Core) and SEPA Direct Debit Business-to-Business (SDD B2B) rulebooks.

Clarification Paper Version 3.1 applicable to the 2023 and 2025 SCT and SCT Inst rulebooks.
Clarification Paper Version 4.1 applicable to the 2023 and 2025 SDD Core and SDD B2B rulebooks.

These documents are designed to support payment service providers (PSPs) in their implementation of the EPC payment scheme rulebooks, offering practical guidance and, where possible, specific recommendations on how to handle situations that are not described in the rulebooks. The papers will be periodically updated to reflect evolving needs and challenges within the payments ecosystem.

In addition to these documents, the EPC also published updated recommendations on customer reporting of SCTs (SCT and SCT Inst), One-Leg Out Instant Credit Transfer (OCT Inst) and SDDs (SDD Core and SDD B2B).

All relevant documents are available in the “Related Documents” section located on the right-hand side of the page.
