The European Payments Council (EPC) has released version 1.1 of all five 2025 EPC payment scheme rulebooks, which took effect on 5 October 2025. Alongside these updates, the EPC has also published updated Implementation Guidelines (IGs) and other related supporting documents.
In version 1.1 of the five 2025 rulebooks, the date from which the use of the unstructured address format is no longer permitted has been revised to 15 November 2026 (in version 1.0, this date had been set at 22 November 2026). This amended date is aligned with the November 2026 Swift Standards MX Release date scheduled for the second full weekend of November 2026.
Versions 1.1 of the five 2025 rulebooks do not impact any other business or operational rules compared to versions 1.0 of the 2025 rulebooks.
