The European Payments Council (EPC) is launching a call for change requests for possible modifications to be introduced into the Verification Of Payee (VOP) scheme rulebook (version 1.0). The call starts today and will run until 15 February 2026.
How to participate?
The template to submit a change request to the VOP scheme rulebook (version 1.0) can be downloaded below. Any person or organisation with a legitimate interest can submit a change request in accordance with the rules described in section 5.2.3 “Submission of Change Requests to the EPC Secretariat” of the current rulebook version (v1.0) (see 'related documents').
Stakeholders are kindly invited to submit their change requests via email to [email protected] by 15 February 2026 close of business.
Note: change requests received after the deadline will be filed and will not be considered.
What will happen next?
The EPC will analyse the legal and technical feasibility of all change requests received. To ensure that they are supported by a broad community, the EPC will organise a three-month public consultation from April to the end of June 2026. The change requests that received broad acceptance will be included in the new scheme rulebook which is anticipated to be published by November 2026.
